About us

Spring in a Box is a woman-owned small farm-based business in Homestead, Florida, dedicated to growing herbs, creating natural products, and helping others reconnect with the land. Founded by Catalina Obando, a gardener, designer, and agroecologist, Spring in a Box blends sustainable farming, creativity, and community to inspire everyday wellness and a deeper connection to nature.

Originally from Medellín, Colombia, I moved to the United States with a background in industrial design and a deep love for plants. After years of working in New York and dreaming of something different, I found myself in the heart of South Florida’s Redland agricultural district, where I now live and work on a five-acre farm.

What began as a personal garden has grown into something much more—a space where I grow herbs, flowers, fruits, and veggies using sustainable, pesticide-free practices. Spring in a Box is not just a farm, but a place of learning, creativity, and healing. I offer seedlings, dried herbs, teas, seeds, garden printables, and handmade tools, all inspired by life on the farm. Many of our products are made or grown right here, with love and care for both the earth and the people who use them.

As a woman entrepreneur and plant lover, I believe in empowering others to grow their own food, support pollinators, and use what they grow for wellness, beauty, and nourishment. Whether you’re just starting your gardening journey or looking for inspiration rooted in tradition, I’m here to help make growing more joyful and more accessible.

Thank you for supporting small farms, handmade products, and women in agriculture.

Let’s grow something beautiful together.
